Buyer
The position of a Buyer within GB Group is demanding.
The clientele of GB Group are specialised in their own particular sectors and particular knowledge of specialist fields
is a requirement of the role of Buyer with GB Group
Types of project value will vary between £20,000.00. and £2million and
cover all types of construction process from refurbishment, fit out, conversion and new construction.
The candidate should be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of procurement and programming constants in order
to maintain a consistent flow of materials and labour to site at the right time and pace.
An element of multiple disciplinary cross over exists within the company structure whereby the buyer will provide complimentary
information to the estimating team and provide backup procurement service to the project managers and site foreman.
The role requires the monitoring of the plant hire requirements of the company on an ongoing basis.
The role also requires the development and implementation of a comprehensive procurement strategy that can be used
by all departments of the company.
Reporting directly to the Managing director this role is one with scope for development of existing knowledge and advancement
of a career in construction as the company grows towards the future.
The position would ideally suit a mature individual who has a proven track record in the industry.
The position available is based upon a contract of hours of 8.00am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, but as GB Group is a growing business the ability to improvise and commit to the requirements of
the company should be considered as above and beyond these hours.
The current holiday entitlements are 16 paid holiday days, plus the existing statutory 8 day public holiday entitlement,
with holiday days increasing by 1 day for each year of service up to a maximum of 10 days.
A discretionary profit award distribution scheme is available for the right candidate whereby the company commits to
an award scheme that is over and above their salary entitlement.
